Cyberbullying

I think cyber bullying needs to be stopped but I know that chances of making that happen 100% may be slim. It's honestly sad that many people feel as though they are dominant and powerful by hiding behind a device trying to destroy peoples' lives, and by making cruel comments anonymously. I remember when I was in grade school, people often got on the internet creating "Burn Book" pages harassing many people. People were made fun of and called inappropriate names. Every time the page was reported and removed from the internet, it seemed like the perpetrators would suddenly make a new page, then more kept appearing. I believe that schools should be held responsible for punishing students who cyberbully other students because if they don't, the problem could get worse. Students attend school to learn. If students sit in class with things distracting them, like what's being said on the internet about them, then students are not focused on their education and their grades may drop tremendously. I think it is important to ensure a healthy learning environment. Teachers and the district should go above and beyond to keep students safe. Parents can be actively involved when it comes to cyber bullying as well. It is important to show your child love and affection. It is a parent's job to protect their children. Parents can block social media sites, that way their child can be less likely to see what's being said about them on the internet. Cyber bullying can have a negative outcome. People may feel like the world is against them and then become suicidal. You wouldn't want to live your everyday life knowing that you could have stepped up and did something to prevent someone from ending their own life.
